Católica hosts Blood Collection today!
For António Medina de Almeida, haematologist and Director of the Católica Medical School: "to give blood is to give life". That is why on 16 May, the Universidade Católica will once again host the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation (IPST) for the usual blood collection, at its headquarters in Lisbon.
Recalling the words of the Director of the Católica Medical School: "a blood donation can save up to 3 lives and in many situations blood is not substitutable by any other therapy". Therefore, Universidade Católica invites all its academic community to contribute to this donation.
The blood collection takes place on 16 May, from 9am to 1pm, and from 3pm to 7pm, in the Descobrimentos Portugueses Room, Floor 1 of the Library Building.
You can also help all those who are in need of a transplant by showing your willingness to be listed as a possible donor in the National Register of Bone Marrow Donors (CEDACE).
