Prints - Conditions of use

Provision of Printing Services at UCP

Conditions of use

  1. Description of the service
The Printing Service at the UCP consists of making available, via the computer network, various printers for chargeable use through a pre-paid personal account associated with the user number at the UCP.
  2. Recipients of the service
Students enrolled in the current academic year, teaching staff and external BUJPII readers can use the service.
  3. Conditions of Use and Security of the Service
The service is accessed using the password given to the user.
The password is for the exclusive knowledge and use of the user, who must ensure and protect its confidentiality under all circumstances, in particular by not disclosing it to third parties and not operating under conditions that allow it to be decoded or copied.
In the event of an interruption in the provision of the Service for reasons of unforeseeable overload of the systems on which it is based, UCP undertakes to regularise its operation as soon as possible.
  4. Tariff and Payment Methods
The user is provided with a pre-paid account associated with their UCP number, the balance of which can be increased by payment via the UCP card (in the shop or card kiosk) or ATM (E-SCA portal - only for students and professors).
The account balance is debited according to the tariff in force at the time of printing.
The user is responsible for maintaining a print account balance that is sufficient to pay the prices due for using the Service.
  5. Suspension and Deactivation of the Service
UCP may suspend the service for operational reasons, namely in the event of maintenance of the service or in emergency situations, or for harmful use of the services by the user.
The service is deactivated when:- the student is no longer enrolled in the course. The student may cease to be enrolled for various reasons, including the following: finishing the course, not enrolling for the academic year, cancellation of enrolment, or change of student number.- the professor ends his or her relationship with the UCP.- the BUJPII external reader expires his or her enrolment. The deactivation of the service implies the loss of all amounts in the balance of the print account that have not been used, and no refunds will be processed for the user. If the service is deactivated because the student changes course and gets a new number during the current academic year, the student can request that the amounts in the print account from the previous course be transferred to the account for the new course. To do this, they must go to the DSI and bring the necessary documents to prove their identity.
  6. Complaints
Complaints regarding the service for external BUJPII readers should be made directly at the John Paul II Library service desk, while other users should contact the Helpdesk of the Information Systems Directorate.
If the complaint concerns printing defects, the user must present the printed sheets to the Helpdesk of the DSI on the same day or on the first working day thereafter.
  7. Acceptance of the conditions contained in these regulations
Use of the printing service implies acceptance by the user of these regulations.
