EPIS Social Scholarships 2025

EPIS (Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion)  has launched the 15th edition of its Social Scholarship Programme, with applications open until 21 September.

The EPIS 2025 Social Scholarships aim to support students in situations of socio-economic vulnerability throughout their secondary and university education, highlighting good practices in promoting social inclusion, sustainability and active citizenship.

All students starting their first year of a bachelor's degree or master's degree in 2025/2026 can apply by accessing the links below:

APIFARMA University Merit Scholarship

Created in January 2023 by APIFARMA, with institutional support from the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP), the APIFARMA University Merit Scholarship aims to promote equal opportunities in access to higher education. This programme is designed to recognise and support students with academic merit and financial need.

The APIFARMA University Merit Scholarship is aimed at Portuguese citizens entering public higher education for the first time, with an application score of 17 or higher.

Gulbenkian New Talent Scholarships

The Gulbenkian New Talent Scholarship aims to recognise and support students of exceptional merit, promoting the development of academic talent and encouraging initiation into research. The scholarships cover fundamental areas of the humanities, arts and social sciences.

Students enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of a bachelor's or integrated master's degree, or in the 1st year of a master's degree, in the 2025/2026 academic year, with an average grade of 16.5 or higher in the courses already completed, are eligible to apply.

The annual scholarship amount is calculated based on three components: Support for training and research; Support for talent enrichment; and Complementary social support.

Gulbenkian Merit Scholarships

The Gulbenkian Merit Scholarships – Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation are awarded to young people with high academic potential who are entering their first year of higher education and have limited financial resources. This support aims to recognise merit, ensure greater financial stability and create favourable conditions for academic success throughout their university career.

Students with an application score of 17 or higher for the 2025/2026 academic year are eligible to apply. In addition, proof of application for the DGES scholarship must be submitted, regardless of household income. This application is essential for income verification, even if the student does not meet the criteria to benefit from the DGES scholarship. Applicants cannot hold any higher education academic degree.
