New students of the Faculty of Human Sciences assure that "Católica was the first and only choice"
They are Communication students and the extrovert way in which, on campus, they talk to the colleagues they have just met reveals that they are on the right degree course. Amused and enthusiastic with all the information about the degree, the new students of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH), of UCP, say that the Universidade Católica is a safe choice.
It was with this certainty that Sofia Catarino decided to apply to the Communication and Cultural Sciences degree at FCH. She is 18 years old and although she has also applied to a faculty in public education, she has already decided that she will not leave Católica. The reason is easy to explain: "the references I received from this University are excellent. I also loved the curriculum of the degree and then because in terms of professional outlets it gives more guarantees."
Carmo Seguro already knows the way around the university. It is the second year that she is at Católica. Disillusioned with the course she was doing, because "it had nothing to do" with her, she decided to change to Communication and Cultural Sciences, and later specialise in Marketing. "Now yes. I know this degree has everything to do with me, because it relates my skills to my hobbies. I know I'm going to love it", confesses the student with enthusiasm.
Leonor Barbosa also can't hide her joy at starting a new path, after all, as she says, "the dream was always to study here." The new FCH student reveals that "Católica was the first and only choice. There was never any doubt." Leonor "was sure she was going to get in because the grades were very good", and her results ensured she was awarded a merit scholarship.
Further away, two students chat while waiting to enter the auditorium. For them, it is also the beginning of a very important stage in their lives.
They are from the same Faculty, but they have chosen different courses. Sebastião Falcão Trigoso is a student of Applied Foreign Languages, in Business Relations, and recalls that the choice for Católica was made following the Open Day in which he participated.
"I loved the way we were introduced to the University and the various degree courses. That day I was sure I wanted to do my undergraduate degree here", says the student.
Miguel Teiga was not so sure. He says that "I was a bit lost, without knowing what I wanted to do in life". The direction ended up appearing "through a conversation with a friend who was on the Communication and Cultural Sciences degree. She was loving the subjects and the teachers and that was decisive."
