Home for the Economy of Francesco | August 1

During the week of World Youth Day, Pope Francis being in Lisbon, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) is set to host a transformative event, The Home for the Economy of Francesco, aimed at addressing pressing economic and ecological challenges through the lens of fraternity and solidarity.

Antonella S. Alibrandi, from the Dicastery for Culture and Education, is the keynote speaker at the conference on August 1, on the theme of "Global compact on education. The pope francis call to a new education", from 2.30 pm to 4:00 pm.

In addition to the opening Mass, which inaugurates the House of Economy of Francesco, there are also 6 EoF Talks: "The Farm of Francesco: cooperative and sustainable agriculture", in Room 513, at 2:30 pm; "EoF Pathway: a Gospel Economy", in Room 514, at 2:30 p.m.; "Economy of Francesco: Glossary", in Room 513, at 3 p.m.; "Embarking on an EoF Mission in a Maasai community in Kenya", in Room 514, at 3:30 p.m.; "Evangelization of Youth in Portugal and Spain: Porticus study", in Room 513, at 4:30 p.m.; "Poverty Stoplight:the Portuguese reality" in Room 514, at 4:30 p.m.

In addition, EoF posters will be presented from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., showcasing projects related to EoF Global [and some portuguese initiatives as well] that embody and promote a transformative economy, one that sustains life instead of destroying it, humanizes rather than dehumanizes, and nurtures creation rather than devastating it.
