Exclusive movie screening IN SEARCH OF MY SISTER

The US Embassy, ​​the Observatory of the Islamic World and the Faculty of Human Sciences at the UCP invite you to the exclusive screening of the film IN SEARCH OF MY SISTER, taking place on September 26, at 3:30 pm, in Auditorium 1.

IN SEARCH OF MY SISTER is the painful documentary that tells the story of exiled Uighur activist Rushan Abbas who sought out her sister, Gulshan, after her disappearance in 2018 in China.

The screening (in English, subtitled in Portuguese) will be followed by a live Q&A with the film's protagonist, RUSHAN ABBAS, whose Nobel Prize-nominated NGO has drawn global attention to the human rights atrocities of the Chinese against the Uighurs in Xinjiang , China; the Inspector General of the World Uyghur Congress, ABDULHAKIM IDRIS; and filmmaker JAWAD MIR.

The session is attended by Michael Baum, Coordinator of the PPE Degree at FCH; João Henriques, Vice-President of the Observatorio do Mundo Islamico and Rebecca Neff, Vice-Chief of the US Embassy Mission in Lisbon.

The event is open to the press and the general public.
