Researcher from the Institute for Political Studies at Católica is the new president of IPMA
José Guerreiro, Associate Researcher at the Research Centre of the Institute for Political Studies (CIEP), Universidade Católica, started his mandate as president of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), on 1st June.
Biologist with a PhD in Ecology and Biosystematics, the researcher at the Institute for Political Studies develops research and teaches in the area of Environmental and Marine Governance and coordinates the Governance and Sustainability of the Ocean Research Group of the MARE Centre.
José Guerreiro is the coordinator of the initiative to promote blue entrepreneurship Mare Startup. Former Secretary of State for the Environment, the researcher was also Director-General of the Environment.
The academic and biologist succeeds Jorge Miguel Miranda who presided over IPMA for 10 years.
