The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova Executive MBA Programme achieved the best result ever in the EMBA Financial Times 2023 ranking, now being the 34th best Executive MBA in Europe and 63rd best in the world.
The result of a pioneering partnership between Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics and NOVA SBE, The Lisbon MBA is also positioned among the 10 best MBAs in Europe, in terms of carbon footprint measurement criteria, and among the top 30 in ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) classification, which evaluates programmes regarding their coverage of ethical, social and environmental issues.
In addition to the rise of 21 places in the global position, it is also worth highlighting the salary increase of 73% three years after completing the programme, with an average gross annual salary close to 182,000 USD, and a high level of seniority roles among students after graduation.
Comparing the 2022 Rankings with those of 2023, this value represents the largest salary increase among all Executive MBA programs classified in the FT ranking, presenting an increase of 35%. This positive evolution clearly shows the continued increase in quality of The Lisbon MBA Executive, as well as the extraordinary professional career of its graduates.
According to Maria José Amich, Executive Director of the programme, «this distinction is extremely important for all our stakeholders, and represents recognition of our continuous investment in the excellence of our offer. The success of our programs is based on a combination of factors, from partnerships with top international business schools to highly prestigious faculty members».
The director also explains how the “educational approach goes beyond knowledge of business fundamentals and trends, focusing on the development of management and leadership skills that organizations seek in their managers, in order to achieve sustainable growth and prosper in an environment constantly changing, creating a positive impact on companies and society».
With a global profile that comprises 41% international professors and around 20% international students who currently represent 17 nationalities, The Lisbon MBA is a tool for developing students' intercultural skills, which brings a diversity of perspectives and horizons.
For Filipe Santos, Dean of Católica-Lisbon, and Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE, «this top position of The Lisbon MBA, which rose another 21 positions this year, reflects the success of the program and the excellent professional careers of its graduates. It also reflects the success of our partnership that brings together three world-renowned schools to put Portugal on the map of excellent MBAs, attracting talent from all over the world».
In the opinion of the directors of the partner schools: «The future is built through the development of talents and more human, innovative and inclusive leaders, capable of leading with purpose. Católica-Lisbon and Nova SBE will continue to work to reinforce their positioning as world-renowned business schools, working in partnership with the best and attracting the best executive talent in the world to The Lisbon MBA».
The Lisbon MBA is the only MBA in Portugal continuously present in the prestigious Financial Times rankings since 2013 with both programs – International MBA and Executive MBA, which makes it the undisputed national leader and a top MBA at a truly global level.
