SACRU-FAO Letter of Intent signing ceremony: Enhancing resilience of food systems to promote food security

The Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities (SACRU), of which UCP is a founding member, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will sign a Letter of Intent on October 27th, at 1 p.m.
The event will provide an overview of how the organizations will collaborate to develop capacities on food security, nutrition and sustainable and resilient food systems at national and regional level through improving knowledge exchange and research, innovation, data sharing and dissemination; and to raise awareness and ownership of good policies and practices in agri-food systems that lead to progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
The ceremony will feature remarks by Pier Sandro Cocconcelli, Vice-Rector of Università del Sacro Cuore (SACRO CUORE), on “Food Safety: emerging risks in the One Health perspective”, and by Junxia Song, Senior One Health Officer and FAO Lead for AMR, on “Promoting One Health to enhance food production and address AMR”.
Maria Helena Semedo, Deputy Director-General of FAO and Franco Anelli, Rector of SACRO CUORE and Vice President of SACRU, will sign the Letter of Intent on behalf of the institutions. Maurizio Martina, Assistant Director-General of FAO and Bruno Archi, Permanent Representative of Italy to FAO will also be present.
Held in a virtual format, the event it is intended for Ph.D. students, lecturers, and professors.
