The Bookshop of the Universidade Católica hosts the presentation of the book "Juízes Sociais" (Social Judges), written by Alfredo Nunes Afonso, on 26 April, at 6pm.

The event takes place at the Bookshop at the headquarters of the University in Lisbon.

On 16 November, the book "Lugares da afetividade e da sexualidade na configuração da identidade pessoal" ("Places of affectivity and sexuality in the configuration of personal identity"), by UCP Press, will be launched at the Bookshop of the Universidade Católica in Lisbon.

Equality on the Horizon: Advancing Gender Equality in Decision-Making, final conference and presentation of results of the EQUAL Leadership Programme will take place on October 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

This event, which is open to all those interested in attending, will be held in person in Lisbon, with the additional option of virtual attendance.

The conference will feature discussions on key findings, innovative strategies, and tools developed to promote gender equality in leadership across the EU. 

The conference is held in English.

The UCP Bookshop is hosting the launch of the book ‘’Desafios da Ética na Investigação‘’ (Challenges in Research Ethics), a collective work that brings together 11 researchers, on 7 October at 17h30.

The presentation will be made by Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Mara de Sousa Freitas, President of the UCP Health Ethics Commission and Ana Mineiro, Director of the UCP Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing.

The Universidade Católica Portuguesa bookshop is organising the launch of the book, from UCP Editora`s Argumento collection, "O Conforto no Cuidar", on 18 November at 6pm.

The event will be presented by Américo Pereira ( Assistant Professor at FCH) and will be attended by Fr. José Manuel Pereira de Almeida (Vice Rector of UCP) and the author Patrícia Pontífice Sousa.

The Research Centre on Peoples and Cultures (CEPCEP) organizes, after the edition of a volume dedicated to the theme, on November 27 and 28, 2023, the International Congress In Portuguese - Speaking, Living and Thinking in the 21st Century, which aims to reflect on speaking, living and thinking in the 21st century having as matrix the Portuguese-speaking cultures, in varied and different expressions.

The Congress, which will be held in a face-to-face and online format, intends to contribute to the diversification and complexification of themes such as the global language.

Researchers from all over the world are invited to submit papers for presentation and discussion at the Congress.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA

Proposals should be sent in the form of an abstract, between 300 and 500 words, in Portuguese, to the address cepcep@ucp.pt.

Exceptionally, non-Portuguese speaking researchers may submit abstracts in English. If the paper is accepted for presentation, in English, the author will have to send a version of the abstract in Portuguese.

The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2023.

Centro de Estudos dos Povos e Culturas de Expressão Portuguesa (CEPCEP) and UCP Editora are organising the launch of the book "Elisa Curado (1858-1933)| A woman of causes", on 22 November at 18:30.

The event will feature a presentation by Anne Cova, from the Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade de Lisboa, and Regina Tavares da Silva, Politician, researcher and international expert on women's human rights.

The moderator will be Fernando Ilharco, President of the Centro de Estudos dos Povos e Culturas de Expressão Portuguesa.
