FAQ´S - I have Brazilian nationality and completed my secondary education in Brazil. What are the special features?

The following conditions must be met cumulatively: 

  • have completed “ensino médio” or equivalent in Brazil. 
  • have taken an exam in the specific area required to attend the undergraduate/integrated master's programme. 

This exam can be: 

  • The ENEM, accepted by all of Católica's Teaching Units, with the exception of the Faculty of Medicine, with a grade equal to or above the minimum required. . 

OR 

  • A national exam in Portugal. 

OR 

  • An internal exam at Católica, if available at the Faculty to which you are applying to.

  • Identification document (passport or identity card); 
  • Tax identification document; 
  • Photograph (passport size); 
  • Declaration of honour that the applicant is eligible as an "international student"; 
  • Secondary school diploma;  
  • Secondary school transcript, with the subjects listed for all years and the respective grades;
  • Document proving the marks obtained in the ENEM, which can be a print-screen;  
  • Statement issued by the secondary school attended, confirming that the applicant's qualifications give access to higher education in the country of origin, and with information on the grading scale used and the respective passing grade for approval, in case this information is not available in the qualification certificate; 
  • Eventually, information on the foreign education system to which the qualification relates (e.g. number of years of schooling, entry conditions, school certification). 

The grade conversion formulae are as follows: 

  • Exam score on Portuguese scale = ENEM area score*200/1000
  • "Ensino Médio” grade on the Portuguese scale - depends on the scale used in Brazil.

For your application, you don’t need to request equivalence. The University considers your "Ensino Médio” qualifications sufficient to analyse your application.
