4. Preparing the application via the General Regime

Applications are exclusively completed online. For most Lisbon campus programmes apply here.

For applications for the Integrated Master's in Medicine apply here and for the International degrees at the Católica-Lisbon apply here.

Yes, because if you live outside Lisbon and are admitted you will have more time to organize your move.

No. Please check the website of each Academic Unit. The application fee is payable per Academic Unit and is valid for a maximum of 4 degrees in that Unit. If you apply for degrees in different Academic Units, you will have to pay an application fee per Unit. The application fee is non-refundable.

No, separate applications need to be completed for each campus.

Yes, but you need to complete separate applications for each campus.

You can apply to up to four programmes. If these programmes are from different Academic Units, you will have to pay an application fee per Unit.

Yes. When you apply for international degrees at Católica-Lisbon, you can show interest in also applying for national degrees at the same faculty without having to pay any additional application fee.

Applicants with Portuguese secondary education must also present:

  • 'Ficha ENES' issued in the year of application

Applicants with foreign secondary education must also present:

  • Diploma and academic transcript of secondary education (subjects completed and scores) with final classification;
  • Declaration, written in English, issued by the Secondary Education Institution, with information on the final grading scale and minimum pass scores, should this information not be included on the academic transcript;
  • Certificate of equivalence to Portuguese secondary education - Consult Direção Geral Educação - DGE

 

Original documents / certificates are not required at the time of completing the application, but they will be required to complete the admission process.

From 2022 onwards, the exams were valid for 5 years (the year they were taken and the following 4 years). National and foreign exams taken in 2022, 2023 and 2024 are valid for the 2024 competitions.


If you have completed Portuguese secondary education, the ENES form issued in the year of your application only includes the valid entrance exams.


If you completed your secondary education abroad, you can use marks from final exams taken in 2022, 2023 or 2024.

Yes, at the start of classes you should go to the School Office (Library building, floor 0, working days from 9am to 6pm ) with the originals of the ENES form (Portuguese secondary school candidates),

or the foreign secondary school diploma including the subjects taken and their grades and the Portuguese secondary school equivalence certificate (foreign secondary school candidates).

For foreign documents, please refer see FAQ 5.13. regarding translation/legalization requirements.

If you do not present the originals of your documents, your registration may be cancelled.

The academic year begins in September and ends in June. There are 10 monthly instalments. Please see here for the annual table of tuition, rates, and fees.

If you have been admitted to a degree programme and already have a sibling studying a degree at Católica, you should go to the School Office (Library Building-floor 0, weekdays from 9am to 6pm) to assess whether your situation is eligible for a reduction in tuition fees. This benefit of reduced tuition fees for the 1st cycle applies to siblings who are simultaneously enrolled at UCP on 1st cycle courses and belong to the same household with shared income, in accordance with the rules in force. This benefit does not apply to students enrolled on the Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine, because this course is considered to be equivalent to a Master's Degree, and is therefore not applicable to either the students themselves or their siblings.

 

Yes, classes are held in person for the vast majority of courses, with the exception of the Philosophy course, which is B-learning, and the Religious Sciences course, which is entirely distance learning.

Check with each Academic Unit for any special conditions applicable to students with student-worker status or if you are a high-performance athletes.

Yes, there is a Women's University Residence. Although the Catholic University does not have any residences for male students in Lisbon, there are two residences close to its headquarters: Colégio Universitario Pio XII and Colégio Universitário Montes Claros.


In addition, the Social Responsibility Office can provide a contact list of other residences.


Some Academic Units have partnerships with residences located in the heart of the city that offer discounts, so you can also get information from each Academic Unit.
