The Universidade Católica Bookshop, situated at the headquarters of the University on the Palma de Cima Campus, Lisbon, is a space dedicated to bringing together knowledge, culture and the community.

With a catalogue of around 15,000 titles, it brings together works covering a wide range of disciplines, from History to Communication, from Culture to Law, from Economics to Religion, including Management, Social Work, Philosophy, Health Sciences, Essays and Literature. If you cannot find the book you are looking for, we also offer a book-order service.

Our mission is to establish the Bookshop as a key part of the University’s academic life, whilst promoting a space open to all those seeking to deepen their knowledge, discover new perspectives or simply enjoy the pleasure of reading.

In addition to its bookshop activities, the bookshop regularly hosts cultural and scientific events. It has a room with seating for around 50 people, which is made available free of charge for presentations, book launches and other events forming part of its cultural programme. Proposals are submitted and scheduled subject to the venue’s availability.

Among the projects of which we are most proud is a tradition that began 17 years ago: regular visits by groups of children to the bookshop. This initiative, launched by teachers from the Associação Infante Sagres, continues to this day, reflecting the University’s commitment to promoting reading, intellectual curiosity and an early engagement with books.

More than just a university bookshop, this is a space for discovery, sharing and dialogue, where knowledge meets culture and reading is open to the whole community.

Loyalty Programme

Loyalty Programme with Universidade Católica card

All holders of the Universidade Católica card can benefit from the loyalty conditions of the Bookshop. To do so, all you have to do is fill in the customer form, available at the Bookshop counter.   

• Discounts: allows you to enjoy an IMMEDIATE 10% discount over the retail price;
• Points: also allows you to accumulate points; for every 200 points earned you receive a discount voucher of 5€;
• The rule of attribution of points is direct: for every €1 of purchases you receive 1 point;
• You can use the voucher in future purchases over 5€, in the following options: 
  - in the purchase of books published more than 24 months ago;
  - in the purchase of merchandising from the University;
  - in the purchase of articles in the Stationery Store (except for magazines and newspapers); 
• The accumulation of points does not occur whenever there are promotional campaigns and in the purchase of second-hand books;

The Bookshop reserves the right to change the loyalty conditions, without being obliged to give prior notice.

If you do not possess the University Card, the subscription to Livraria UCP loyalty card has a cost of 1€;

The accumulation of points occurs after the 2nd purchase;
