The Network of Archives of Religious Institutions (RAIR) is organising its 9th meeting, ‘Personal archives’, in both face-to-face and virtual formats, on 8 November at 14:30.

RAIR aims to promote the study, preservation, organisation and dissemination of the documentary heritage of religious institutions.

This will be the ninth meeting of the Network of Archives of Religious Institutions (RAIR), whose aims are to promote the study, preservation, organisation and dissemination of the documentary heritage of religious institutions.

Presentation of the book " O culto de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré: perspetiva multidisciplinar"

The book "O culto de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré: perspetiva multidisciplinar" (The cult of Our Lady of Nazaré: a multidisciplinary perspective), published by Universidade Católica Editora (UCE) and coordinated by Pedro Penteado, researcher at the Centre of Religious History Studies (CEHR), Universidade Católica, will be presented on 28 January 2023, at the Nazaré Municipal Library.

This initiative is co-organised by the CEHR, the Research Centre on Peoples and Cultures and the UCE.

Seminar ‘Citizenship, democracy and reformism’ | ‘The chaplains against’

As part of the seminar ‘Citizenship, democracy and reformism’, the Centre for Studies in Religious History is organising the session ‘The chaplains against’, with the participation of José Martins Júnior, on 17 October at 5pm, in a hybrid format.

The Citizenship, Democracy and Reform Seminar has been taking place since 2022 as part of the research project ‘25 April: permanences, ruptures and recompositions’ and will be active until 2026. Its aims are: to study the problem of ‘25 April, permanences, ruptures and recompositions’, seeking to take stock of the history 50 years on: what is known and what is not known; to promote meetings and encourage common reflection between researchers in the field of Contemporary Religious History; to allow new research to be presented.

Religious History Seminar «Santidade à Portuguesa: da inventio às relíquias e do culto à História»

The Centre of Religious History Studies is organising a Religious History Seminar, cycle 2024, on the theme ‘Santidade à portuguesa: da inventio às relíquias e do culto à história | A evolução histórica do culto e dos processos de canonização’, on 9 December at 18h00.

This event will be attended by João Pedro Bizarro (UCP-FT).

This cycle, organised in partnership with the Cabido Portucalense and with the support of the University of Porto's CITCEM, consists of 12 sessions between February and December 2024 (with an interruption in August).

The sessions are free to attend (although prior registration is required), at the Porto Cathedral and broadcast online.
