Ricardo Mestre is appointed Secretary of State for Health
Ricardo Mestre, professor at Católica Porto Business School (CPBS) and Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (CLSBE), was appointed Secretary of State for Health last Thursday, 15 September.
The professor of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa is sub-director-general of the General Directorate of Health since June, having already held positions in the Public Finance Council, in the Central Administration of the Health System, in the S. Paulo Hospital and in the Alentejo Regional Health Administration.
With a degree in Economics, Ricardo Mestre is a specialist in hospital administration and his areas of research are the contracting and financing of health care; access to health care; economic and financial analysis; organisation and management of health care providers; integration of care; continuous and long-term care; and clinical coding and patient classification systems.
