Life at Católica: newspapers and magazines created and run by students
Students at Universidade Católica Portuguesa can take part in numerous clubs and extracurricular activities that enrich academic life. Get to know five newspapers and magazines created and run entirely by students.
Jornal Pontivírgula
In Lisbon, students from the Faculty of Human Sciences can participate in the Jornal Pontivírgula, an independent media outlet where they can explore their interests while acquiring skills and preparing for their professional future. The newspaper covers general topics and also events related to the University.
Although it is mainly composed of Communication students, the newspaper is open to students from all courses. Participants can be part of different departments, from the newsroom to social media, to design, fact-checking or proofreading.
Da Democracia em Portugal
Also in Lisbon, the digital magazine Da Democracia em Portugal is aimed at anyone interested in politics and international relations. Organized by current and former students of the Institute for Political Studies, the magazine focuses on issues related to freedom, with articles written in both Portuguese and English.
Jornal Diurna
Diurna. is a project created by students from the Porto Regional Center, but it also has a team in Lisbon. Students from several courses and faculties at Católica can participate in this newspaper, which covers general topics and also includes photography and art.
