"This is an incredible experience". The message from a Católica medical student to the newcomers

"Be resilient, have willpower and do not get discouraged". These are the three pieces of advice that Luana Savaget, a second-year student at the Católica Medical School of the Universidade Católica, gives to the new students, reminding them that "Medicine is a difficult degree course, but very rewarding."

Now that the Faculty welcomes another group of future doctors, it is time to evaluate the first year and also to help in the integration of the new arrivals and that is what Luana and her colleagues have been doing at this start of the academic year.

"During freshman week we had welcoming activities so that the new colleagues could get to know the Faculty and understand the dynamics", says the student, adding that "it has been very exciting to see new faces at the school and have the opportunity to tell them that they are in a very good institution".

Looks and smiles are exchanged in the corridors. Friendships will certainly not take long, not least because as Luana says, "they are all very nice and you can see in them the joy of knowing that they are having a fantastic opportunity."

As for the balance, the student reveals that "it couldn't be more positive", recalling that it has been an incredible experience to study at the Catholic Medical School, because "the methodology is fantastic and the teachers are of great quality".

The specialty is still "not completely decided, but she admits her passion, since the beginning of the course, for Cardiology and more recently for Endocrinology." Of one thing Luana is sure: "I want to work in a hospital environment."

This is her "current dream", says the student, because her "first dream was to study Medicine." A desire she has had since she "knew herself as a person," she concludes.

For this future doctor, "there is no better Faculty to study Medicine than this one".

"The future is private and that was one of the factors that led me to choose the Universidade Católica," says the student with pride.
