Concert by the choir of Católica marks the closing of the exhibition ""Trono de Maria, Lugar de Sabedoria"

To mark the closing of the exhibition "Trono de Maria, Lugar de Sabedoria", the Fundação Amélia de Mello Gallery hosted the Choir of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa for an intimate concert, which took place inside the exhibition space, on 21 March.

It was an 'immersive' concert, which "marks the aesthetic fruition on the University campus and shows the intimacy between contemporary artistic practices and the artistic repertoire with a long tradition in the Iberian Peninsula", the President of the Católica, Isabel Capeloa Gil, pointed out at the end.

Santa Maria Strella do Dia, Señora del Mundo and Venite a Laudare were the three pieces chosen for this concert. A musical repertoire, which according to Maestro Sérgio Peixoto was selected because they were "three pieces dedicated to Our Lady, appropriate to the Marian theme of the exhibition."

At the end of the finissage, the director of the Fundação Amélia de Mello Gallery, Paulo Campos Pinto, thanked the Maestro, the Commissioner of the exhibition, Maria Isabel Roque and the President of the Universidade Católica, "the great ambassador of the gallery."

Recalling that the exhibition "broke the record in the number of visitors, with 22 guided tours and dozens of videos published," Paulo Campos Pinto also thanked the members of the Choir of Católica, composed of 16 female and male voices and the instrumentalists Rebeca Csalog, on Harp, and Estrela Martinho, on Flute.

The exhibition "Trono de Maria, Lugar de Sabedoria" was on display between November 7, 2022 and March 22, 2023, and addressed the iconographic theme around Mater Sapientiae (Holy Mary, Seat of Wisdom), invocation of the chapel of the campus headquarters of Católica, in Lisbon.
