"50 years, 5 concepts": FCH researchers meet to discuss present and future
The faculty and researchers of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa came together for a Christmas conference, on December 14, at the Palma de Cima Campus. This time as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the faculty, it was an occasion for debate on five research concepts that mirror the multi and interdisciplinary environment experienced at FCH.
Imperial Public Sphere, Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship, Environment, Hospitality, and Coping in Children and Adolescents were the ideas discussed. For Nelson Ribeiro, Director of the Faculty "these five concepts are also a way for us to think about the future."
Jorge Santos Alves, moderator of the conference, in turn, highlighted these concepts as "proof of the rich and extraordinary diversity of the faculty, which has areas of knowledge that intersect, and that share orientation with each other."
Marking the 50th anniversary of FCH's existence, the professor left a hopeful message about the institution's future: "A faculty that has this diversity of disciplines has a very secure future," he said.
The presentation of the key concepts was made by researchers Isadora Fonseca (Communication Sciences), Antonela de Jesus (Social Sciences), Diana Gonçalves (Culture Studies), Luís Lóia (Philosophy) and Marta Pedro (Psychology). The specialists explained how these ideas have been reflected in the research they carry out, and how they may be relevant for the future.
After the conference, the Faculty of Human Sciences Christmas dinner was held.
